Freeman Container was founded in 1985 when John Freeman, a disabled Vietnam veteran, left corporate America to start his own business. Through hard work, an entrepreneurial spirit, and continually delivering value and quality, the business grew from a single client to serving hundreds of businesses today.

From it's humble beginnings in John's barn, Freeman Container grew by making the impossible possible. By running the business with the customer in mind, Freeman Container invested in the technology and equipment that was going to make it stand out from the competition and do what other businesses weren't able to.

1985 | Freeman Container is Founded

Starting out in a barn in his home in Dallas, NC, John Freeman creates and founds Freeman Container.

1990 | Partnership With Wix

With roots in the Charlotte area, Freeman Container and Wix had been working together for over 28 years. In 1990, Freeman Container became a key supplier for their boxing and packaging supplies for Wix Filters, helping launch the business forward.

1998 | Jason Odom Joins Freeman

After 10+ years in existence, John needed some help. So he turned to the one thing you can count on - family. Jason, John’s son-in-law, joined the business. Thanks to his business knowledge and devotion to customer service, this addition helped thrust Freeman Container forward and laid the groundwork for the success it’s having today.

1996 | New Warehouse Opens

With the business steadily growing, Freeman Container opened up it’s 25,000 ft. modern manufacturing facility.. Still housing business operations today, people are continually impressed at how nice the facility is. But while the space and the machinery are nice, it’s still about the people who make Freeman Container stand out.

2014 | John Freeman Retires

After 30 years as the founder, owner, and chief operator of Freeman Container, John (pictured here on the left) stepped down to relax and enjoy life in retirement. Jason, his son-in-law, stepped up into the role of CEO/GM.

Present Day | Going Strong

Serving over 200 companies from coast to coast, Freeman Container is thriving today. Establishing a reputation for high-quality work and helping businesses with all their shipping needs, Freeman Container is set to continue their role in the industry for decades to come.
